It was a dark and stormy night. Frequent bolts of lightning lit up the night sky followed by the rumble of thunder. I never really captured lightning with my camera so I decided to give it a try and quickly set up my camera on the tripod and pointed it out of the window.

Exhibited at SXSW 2013
About two weeks before the South by Southwest (SXSW) 2013 event held in Austin, Texas, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a Flickr Mail from Flickr‘s marketing manager, Theresa Nguyen. Flickr has come across my photo (above) and would like to showcase it in their gallery at Brazos Hall at SXSW and asked me for… Continue reading Exhibited at SXSW 2013

A (Ladies’) Night At the Races
Philip, a friend and ex-colleague who worked at the Singapore Turf Club texted me one evening asking me if I knew anyone who’s female and is a blogger/prolific in the social networks. The only one whom I can think of at that time was another friend, Belinda, who provided me many opportunities to shoot at events… Continue reading A (Ladies’) Night At the Races
2012 – Year In Photos

I’m therefore quite surprised to know of a Russian jazz band who gave… Continue reading Jazz Encounters of the Russian Kind

Originally sculpted by Mr Lim Nang Seng in 1972, the 8m tall statue used to stand at the mouth of the Singapore River and was moved to… Continue reading Happy Birthday, Merlion!
Enter the Dragon
Back in the days before the era of iPads, iPhones and other electronic devices, kids used to go out and play. The playground is probably one of the favourite places of a kid during the simpler times, before they get distracted by electronic devices and tons of schoolwork. The most iconic playgrounds of yesterday are… Continue reading Enter the Dragon
Celestial Triangle
I was treated to another astronomical phenomenon this morning, where the planets Jupiter, Venus and the waning-crescent moon formed a “celestial triangle” in the pre-dawn sky today morning. I had previously read about this occurrence on National Geographic’s website but unsure if I would be able to see it in Singapore. So it’s to my… Continue reading Celestial Triangle

On 29 June 2012, Singapore’s latest attraction, the Gardens by the Bay South is opened to the public. The 54-hectare Bay South is the largest among the cluster of the three gardens dubbed “Gardens by the Bay“. Along with my friends David and YS, we were privileged to be invited to a media tour of… Continue reading Gardens by the Bay South
